Hanoi, 31 March 2026 – British University Vietnam (BUV) has been ranked in the 151–200 band globally for Art and Design in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, marking a rise of 258 places from 2025. The result places BUV as the only international university in Vietnam to be ranked among the world’s top 200 institutions for the subject and reinforces its growing standing in creative education.

The achievement follows BUV’s continued investment in creative programmes, industry engagement, and international academic partnerships. The University currently offers programmes including Professional Communication, Film and Media Production, and Contemporary Creative Practice, alongside dual-degree programmes in Graphic Design and Illustration with Animation.

The QS World University Rankings by Subject assess institutions using indicators tailored to each discipline. In Art and Design, the evaluation is based primarily on academic reputation and employer reputation. BUV’s performance reflects recognition from both the international academic community and industry, supported by British-standard curricula, internationally experienced faculty and partnerships with established UK degree-awarding institutions.

Professor Rick Bennett, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President of BUV, believes that the University’s focus on combining academic quality with industry relevance has contributed to its continued progress.

“As the creative industries become an increasingly important pillar of the knowledge economy, we are focused on developing graduates who can combine creative thinking with the ability to take ownership across the entire value chain, from idea to final product. This recognition provides a strong foundation for us to expand our academic portfolio, deepen industry collaboration and develop future-ready creative talent for Vietnam and the wider world,” Professor Bennett added.

BUV’s employer reputation is also supported by its emphasis on experiential learning and graduate readiness. Through the University’s Professional Employability and Experience Feedback system, employers directly evaluate students following their internships. Data from the 2024–2025 period shows that 97.3% of participating students were rated “Good” or “Excellent”, indicating strong confidence in their professionalism, adaptability and ability to perform in real working environments.

The University works with a network of more than 500 corporate partners, including multinational organisations and leading Vietnamese companies. These partnerships provide students with access to internships, live briefs, industry projects and professional working environments, while helping academic teams keep programmes aligned with changing industry needs.

Beyond the classroom, BUV regularly organises and participates in exhibitions, academic exchanges, industry visits, conferences and creative events. These activities enable students to engage with practitioners, respond to emerging trends and build professional networks across the creative sector.

The latest ranking also builds on BUV’s wider portfolio of international quality recognition. BUV is a QS 5-Star university and the first university in Vietnam and ASEAN to receive QAA Global Quality Accreditation from the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education. These distinctions reinforce the University’s commitment to quality assurance, internationally benchmarked education and continuous institutional development.
